EMILY MORROW, Ph.D., CCC-SLP

Dr. Morrow is a rehabilitation researcher and a Research Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of General Internal Medicine and Public Health at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She is a certified speech-language pathologist with clinical experience in hospital, acute rehabilitation, and outpatient settings. She holds specialty certification in traumatic brain injury from the Brain Injury Association of America.

 

Dr. Morrow received her PhD in Hearing and Speech Sciences from Vanderbilt University. She came to the Department of Medicine as a postdoctoral fellow through the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality Patient/pRactice Outcomes Research in Effectiveness and Systems Science (PROgRESS) T32 program before joining the faculty. Dr. Morrow’s research aims to advance the science, application, and implementation of interventions that support people with cognitive and communication dysfunction in managing their health. She has a particular focus on understanding the unique needs of people with cognitive dysfunction in managing chronic conditions, including traumatic brain injury and diabetes, and designing tailored tools to support them.
